Why Is PE Drawing Film Packaging Wrinkle

Oct 11, 2021

There are two main reasons for the live wrinkle of PE material: one is caused by the thickness of PE material (that is, the "raw material lotus edge" often called in the industry), and the other is the thermal shrinkage or elastic modulus of PE material. In the raw material state, there is basically no change, but after compounding, there is a change in shrinkage tension through glue crosslinking and curing and under the winding tension (this change is mainly due to the elastic tension of PE and under the action of glue in the static state after getting off the machine), and the tension changes slowly after the composite is rolled down. The apparent phenomenon is that there will be irregular "curved" lines on the end face of the composite membrane, that is, what we often call "earthworm line". There will be different degrees of "live wrinkles" at this position, which are generally irregular. Some appear in the middle of the roll, some appear in a small part of the roll surface, some at the bottom of the roll, and some account for half of the membrane width (that is, half of the transverse position of the membrane has and the other half does not, which is a prominent feature point). Therefore, when such problems occur, they need to be solved at the source of PE production. Although such problems are rare, once they occur, many enterprises do not know the causes of the problems.
